Our window crew here at Sidex recently did a Double Hung window replacement in Racine, Wisconsin for our clients, the Nelson Family. The Nelson Family wanted to upgrade the window to something that looks elegant, and would be energy efficient, saving them money. After a short web search, the Nelson Family came across our team at Sidex, and after looking at our 5 star reviews and recently completed jobs, they knew our team were the right choice. To do this project we had to clear out any debris blocking the window, then we began our replacement process, here is an in depth look at our process:
- Preparation: Make sure any furniture is moved on the inside of the house where window is being replaced and everything is covered near the area to prevent damage.
- Removal: The old window is carefully removed which involves taking out any trim work, sashes, and hardware before removing the window frame itself. Any sealants or adhesive is removed to make sure there is a clean surface for the new window.
- Installation: Once the old window is removed then the new window is installed. The involves fitting the window frame into the opening and securing it in place. You have to use proper insulation/sealing techniques to make sure the window is energy efficient and weather resistant.
- Finishing: Once the new window is installed all of the new trim or molding is added to provide a finished look. Sealants and caulk are applied around all of the edges to prevent any drafts and water infiltration.
- Cleaning Up: The area is cleaned up and any debris from the installation is removed. Then finally the window is inspected to make sure that is operates smoothly.
