Window Replacement in Fond Du Lac, WI

Our team at Sidex recently completed a window replacement in Fond Du Lac, WI, for a new client. The client, The Weston family was dealing with old windows that were drafty and hard to open. The Weston family knew they needed to replace these windows to keep the outside air conditions, outside. The Weston family took to the internet to find a local company that could replace their windows quickly and after a short search they discovered our company at Sidex. Upon seeing our glowing reviews and our completed projects, they felt like our team was right for the job. Our team met with the Weston family and provided them with a quote. Once everything was agreed upon, our team got to work. We began by replacing a radius top window, this window had a brown frame and was leaking in outside air. We installed a new vinyl triple paned radius top window, which is a bit more difficult than installing a normal window but is worth it because the radius top window provides a much better view. We then installed a waterproof sealant around the window to prevent any leaks. Upon completion we made sure everything was to the clients liking, and we did a full clean up of the job site.

Description of work done:

1. Removing the Old Window: Carefully remove any trim or molding around the window using a pry bar, being cautious not to damage the surrounding wall. Unscrew the old window frame and gently remove it. If the window is heavy, enlist help to avoid accidents.

2. Preparing the Opening: Clean the opening thoroughly, removing old caulk, nails, and debris. Check the framing for any damage or rot. Repair or replace as needed to ensure a solid base for the new window

3. Installing the New Window: Place the new round top window into the opening to ensure it fits properly. Use shims to level and secure the window in place. Once positioned, secure the window frame with screws or nails according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

4. Sealing and Insulating: Apply a high-quality waterproof sealant around the exterior edge of the window to prevent water infiltration. Use expanding foam or fiberglass insulation to fill gaps between the window frame and the wall for improved energy efficiency

5. Installing Trim and Finishing Touches: Reinstall or replace the interior and exterior trim around the window for a polished appearance.

6. Final Checks: Test the window for proper operation (if operable) and inspect the sealing for any gaps or issues. Clean the window and surrounding area, and reinstall any window coverings
