Our installers here at Sidex recently finished a bathtub replacement in Horicon WI for our new clients, the Anderson family. The Andersons wanted to say goodbye to the outdated tiles and soffit to welcome in a more modern look with more ventilation in their bathroom. They did a short search online and found our team at Sidex, after seeing our glowing testimonials & portfolio they contacted us to do the job. Our team at Sidex began with switching out their old cast-iron tub with tile walls to an acrylic tub accompanied with acrylic walls. Replacing the wall tiling is a common part of the typical remodeling project that we do, but ripping tiles out a soffit is not an everyday thing. Here is an indepth look at our replacement process:
- Demolition: The first step would be shutting off the water to the house. Removing all of the fixtures. Demo out the soffit, walls, and tub.
- Framing: The second step would be framing the ceiling with studs and covering it up with drywall
- Plumbing Adjustment: If the new tub is a different size then the old one then we make adjustments with the drain, valve, and water lines to make it line up with the new size
- Installing of tub: The new tub is installed making sure that it fits properly and is leveled. Securing it to the wall studs.
- Acrylic Wall installation: New water resistant drywall is installed then the acrylic walls are finished. Acrylic walls are a very popular choice with low maintenance. They are very durable and give a more modern look to the bathroom.
- Fixtures installation: We install all the new fixtures like the showerhead, trim kit, and any accessories.
- Final step: Any gaps or joints are sealed with a waterproof bath sealant to prevent any water leakage which is crucial.
